Back to the wooden side panels: once the glue had eventually dried, the ends were made flat and square.


Then, because I wanted the side panels to wrap the chassis, some room had to be made for the feet:



The finished product looks like this:


Then, the long process of shaping the exterior began. A vast amount of material needed to be removed.


But before work continued on the exterior, the area for the hinges needed to be cut and as much material as possible had to be removed from the inside, all the while paying close attention to the integrity of the panel.



And after thinking about it for a while, I decided to remove even more material...
